55-inch
LG Electronics with OLED screen (OLED) will go on sale in eng in March 2013.
Price will be 499,990 rubles. Reservation to the TV can be formalized in the
company store LG in Moscow. There will also be exposed demonstrator unit. Device
LG - one of two OLED-TVs with 55-inch screen of the world. Second such TV was
created by Samsung; price for English it is currently unknown. Engineering
samples of both devices were presented in January 2012 at CES. They are
characterized by very large screen sizes of commercially available at the time
of OLED-TVs. The thickness of the TV is four millimeters (almost two times
thinner than the iPhone 5), and weight - seven and a half pounds, the screen
resolution is 1920 by 1080 pixels. The device can output 3D-image, and can
convert two-dimensional images into three-dimensional.
OLED-TV,
as opposed to liquid-crystal televisions, need no backlight, because the light
emitting LEDs themselves. They are thinner than LCD models consume
significantly less power, they have a high-quality color reproduction and wider
viewing angles and almost instant "response matrix" - at the expense
of the image on the screen is blurred even in dynamic scenes. The main
disadvantage of the devices interfere with their active market entry is the
high price. The main reason for the high cost of OLED TVs - a large percentage
of defects in production. The first production OLED TV was Sony XEL-1 - it went
on sale in 2007. TV has 11-inch screen and cost about two thousand dollars.
